  • A page from Part I, the test and its rules: the right and wrong answers that reach a part's minimum, and the maximum points per part for Medicine and MEDTEC
The test: each part's minimum is four net right answers
  • A page from Part II, Scientific Thinking: a dilution protocol drawn as a flow chart and traced pass by pass
Scientific Thinking: following a protocol, traced in a table
  • A page from Part IV, Biology: glycolysis, the link reaction, the Krebs cycle and the electron transport chain, with where each happens
Biology: cellular respiration, stage by stage
  • The first page of the appendix's formula and values sheet

The official syllabus, 93 pages, one test

The guide follows Humanitas's Syllabi 2027 line by line, printing each block's wording before it explains it, and takes the rules of the test from the 2026/27 call, labelled as such. Medicine and Surgery is the main ranking; MEDTEC School's reversed points are boxed wherever they differ. Every worked example was written for the guide: there are no test questions and no past-paper material in it.

  1. Before you start

    The HUMAT in brief

The test in one page, the official documents the guide follows, what Humanitas says the test is for, and Medicine and MEDTEC School side by side.

  2. Part I

    The test and its rules

Three parts on three clocks; 22, 16 and 10 points with a quarter off for a wrong answer; each part's minimum as four net right answers; MEDTEC's reversed weights; ties, reserve questions and the ranking; the rounds and the penultimate year; who can sit; and what changed in 2026 and again in 2027.

  3. Part II

    Scientific Thinking

The eighteen abilities of Mathematical, Procedural and Visual Thinking, in the syllabus's own words, each with the method and the classic way to lose the point.

  4. Part III

    Academic Literacy

The texts (C1 and above, about 700 words, on scientific topics), the five reading abilities, and how to fit a reading text into a 45-minute part shared with Scientific Thinking.

  5. Parts IV to VII

    Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics

Every block and every line of the Syllabi 2027, explained at the level the syllabus sets, with worked examples written for the guide and the figures to go with them.

  6. Part VIII

    Preparing, and the test day

Points per minute, what a guess is worth, a preparation plan, pacing inside each part, and the set-up and rules of the online sitting that decide whether your test counts.

  7. Appendix

    Checklists and sheets

The whole syllabus as a checklist, two pages of formulas and values, a checklist for the day, the Italian terms of the call in English, and the sources.

Verified, and dated

Every fact about the test (format, points, minimums, MEDTEC, the rounds, the online sitting) was checked against Humanitas's own documents, in English and in Italian, on 12 October 2026.

Versioned

This is version 1.0.0 (12 October 2026). The version is on the cover and in every footer, so you always know which edition you are holding. Spotted an error? Write to contact@italymedprep.it.

No dates in the PDF

A PDF cannot update itself, so registration windows, test days and ranking dates are deliberately left out. Read them on Humanitas's own apply page, and check again before you pay. ItalyMedPrep is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Humanitas University.

Questions

About the study guide

Is the guide really free?

Yes. Enter your email and we send you a download link for the PDF. The link works for seven days, and you can request it again from this page at any time.

Is it up to date for 2027 entry?

It follows Humanitas's Syllabi 2027, published in October 2026, line by line. The test's rules come from the 2026/27 call, because the 2027/28 call had not been published when this edition was written: the guide labels them and tells you to check the new call when it appears. Facts checked on 12 October 2026; this is version 1.0.0.

Does it cover MEDTEC School?

Yes. MEDTEC ranks the same test with the points reversed: 10, 16 and 22 points a question, with minimums of 40, 64 and 88. Wherever MEDTEC's numbers differ, a box in the guide gives them.

Does it contain past papers or practice questions?

No. Humanitas's apply page publishes the call, the syllabus, the scoring tables and the technical guide, and no past paper of the current test. The guide contains no test questions: its worked examples were written for it to explain the syllabus.

Is this an official Humanitas publication?

No. ItalyMedPrep is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Humanitas University. The guide is built from Humanitas's own published documents: the Syllabi 2027, the calls, the scoring tables and the technical guide.

How is it different from your practice?

The guide teaches the syllabus and the method. Our HUMAT practice puts Biology and Chemistry, and Mathematics and Physics, each on its own clock, with Scientific Thinking practice, scored with the Medicine points and every answer explained. Academic Literacy is not in our practice. See what it covers.
