What score gets a place? The 2026 lines
Free: a printable 2027 checklist for all 4 schools.
Get the free checklistIn short. Cattolica Rome and Campus Bio-Medico publish their rankings with scores. At Cattolica Rome, the 40th EU place in the 2026 first ranking scored 58 of 65. At Campus Bio-Medico, the 84th Medicine place scored 48.2 of 60. Humanitas's call gives no cut-off: each candidate saw only their own place. San Raffaele's call sets no minimum score. These were first-ranking lines. Later offers went further down the list, so the final lines can be lower.
What a cut-off means
A cut-off is the score of the last person offered a place. Each school first ranks everyone by score. Then it offers places from the top of the list.
Some people say no, or do not pay in time. Their places then go to the next people on the list. So the score of the last person admitted can end up lower than the first line.
The first ranking is the list published after the test. This page gives the first-ranking lines, because those are what the schools published.
Only the 2026 lines are given here. One year cannot show a trend. So do not read 58 as the 2027 line.
Cattolica Rome: 58 of 65 on the EU route
Cattolica publishes its full rankings, with scores. These were the 2026 numbers:
- EU route: 709 candidates were ranked for 40 places. The 40th place in the first ranking scored 58.00 of 65. Two candidates scored the full 65.
- Non-EU route: 713 candidates were ranked for 70 places. The 70th place scored 54.25 of 65.
- To be eligible for a place, you needed at least 20 of 65. In 2026, 689 of the 709 ranked EU candidates reached it, and 687 of the 713 non-EU.
What 58 out of 65 means
Here is the arithmetic, from the 2026 scoring rules.
- 58 leaves 7 points to drop. That is 7 blanks, or at most 5 wrong answers.
- A wrong answer costs a quarter point, on top of the point you miss. So 5 wrong answers cost 6.25 points, and 6 cost 7.5.
- Every part counts. The 5 ethics and 2 general knowledge questions are 7 points together.
- Ties go to the better logic score first, then biology, then chemistry.
How the list moved
From 14 April 2026, every candidate could look at their marked test. The EU ranking came out on 21 April, and the non-EU ranking on 28 April. Offers then moved down each list as people said no. The rankings close at the end of the first teaching semester. After that, empty places are not offered again.
Campus Bio-Medico: 48.2 of 60 for Medicine
Campus Bio-Medico also publishes its rankings with scores. These are the 2026 Medicine numbers, on the call for EU applicants:
- 476 candidates were listed.
- The first 84 were "winners", the people offered a place first. The 84th scored 48.2 of 60.
- The 85th also scored 48.2, but lost on the tie-break. Ties go to the better biology score first, then chemistry.
- The top score was 57.8.
- The minimum was 12 of 60. 471 candidates reached it. The 5 below it were marked not eligible.
How the list moved
This was the provisional ranking, published by 27 February 2026. Winners had to enrol by 10 March, or count as withdrawn. From 20 March, places moved down the list. Notices usually came on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The final ranking came by 3 July. It kept only candidates with an accepted English certificate. Places could still move down the list after it, from 31 July.
This page covers the Medicine list only.
Humanitas: no cut-off in the call
Humanitas's call gives no cut-off, only minimums. In 2026, each candidate saw only their own place and status, in a private online area. So no one can tell you that a score like 600 is enough.
What the 2026 call does say:
- The test is out of 960. Some older advice quotes scores out of 180. Those are not on the 2026 scale.
- To be ranked, you need 192 of 960 overall. You also need the minimum in each part.
- For Medicine, the part minimums are 88, 64 and 40. For MEDTEC, they are 40, 64 and 88.
- Your better score of the 2 rounds counts.
How the list moved
There was one ranking per course, on 30 March 2026. On the EU list, the first 150 for Medicine (80 for MEDTEC) could enrol until 8 April. After that, Humanitas could let more students enrol on condition, before their place was sure.
San Raffaele: no minimum score in the call
San Raffaele's call sets no minimum score, and it gives no past cut-off. Its rankings go on its online board, without names.
- You get 2 tries. Your better score counts.
- Ties go to the better logic score first, then reading.
How the list moved
- EU route: to stay in the running, you had to declare online that you would enrol. The window was 9 June to 22 June 2026, 15:00. If you did not, you were treated as withdrawn. The definitive ranking (the new list after this step) was drawn only from those who did.
- Non-EU route: you paid €1,500 by 9 April 2026 to confirm a place. The list then moved from 10 April to 30 June.
Answer or leave it blank?
Cattolica, Humanitas and Campus Bio-Medico have 5 options per question. There, a blind guess is right 1 time in 5. San Raffaele's call does not say how many options each question has. Whether a guess helps depends on the penalty.
| School | A wrong answer costs | A blind guess, on average |
|---|---|---|
| Cattolica Rome | 0.25 | Gains nothing |
| San Raffaele | 0.25 | Not known: the call gives no option count |
| Humanitas | A quarter of the question's points | Gains nothing |
| Campus Bio-Medico | 0.2 | Gains 0.04 points |
So guess when you can rule out at least one option. At Cattolica, for example, ruling out one option turns a guess into a small gain on average. If you cannot rule out anything, a blank is as good as a guess. At Campus Bio-Medico, a blind guess is very slightly better than a blank.
